Discovering the al Piolet Hotel: a tale of passion and innovation
The al Piolet, is not just a Hotel, but a real piece of history of Cervinia. Built by Rolando Zanni, a legendary ski master, the hotel had been hosting guests for almost a century.
BEHIND ROLANDO ZANNI
Active in International ski competitions between the 1930 and 1950, he took part to the Olympic Games on the 1936, establishing the world record in the speed skiing discipline.
In 1953, he realized his dream of becoming a hotelier, building the Hotel al Piolet in a classical architectural style, inspired by local masterpieces such as the Rifugio Pirovano and the Gran Baita.
